Traffic Flow
Santa’Ville traffic flow is akin to a well-oiled machinery. Establishing a good flow of traffic is integral to our operations. Come busy season we will need to have a smooth flow of operations to have fun while working!
Note: only decorations that are paid for will make their way to the artist’s station. If a customer places an order and isn’t cashed out, keep their decoration(s) at the cash station until transaction is completed.
The Flow
  1. Customer Selection:
  • Once a customer has selected a decoration to be personalized, guide them to the cash station.
  1. Taking the Order:
  • At the cash station, write the customer’s message for personalization on a post-it and attach it to the back of the decoration. It’s important that your handwriting is neat and legible so the artist(s) can easily read the message.
  • After processing the payment, provide the customer with a time frame for when their ornament(s) will be ready for pickup. Let them know that the decoration will be available for pick-up at the art desk.
  1. Ornament Transfer:
  • After completing the transaction, the ornament will be sent to the art desk for personalization.
  1. Pick-up Location:
  • All pick-up items will remain at the art desk. Direct customers to form a line at the art desk when they return to collect their orders.
  1. Pick-up Process:
  • When a customer returns to pick up their decoration, ask for their receipt to easily locate their order at the art desk.
Notes for Handling Multiple Customers:
  • Manage Time Efficiently:
  • In a busy, fast-paced environment, be mindful of how much time you spend with each customer at the cash station. While it's important to provide excellent service, you cannot ignore other customers while helping one. Efficiency is key to keeping the line moving, especially during the holiday rush when customers may become impatient.
  • Customer Involvement:
  • To streamline the process, involve the customer. You can provide them with a template or notepad to write their message while you assist other customers. This gives them time to confirm the spelling or details without feeling rushed, while allowing you to help the next customer in line.
  • Multitasking:
  • Keep the process moving by attending to other customers while one is filling out their note. This way, you avoid a bottleneck at the cash station and ensure that everyone is helped in a timely manner.
  • Stay Calm Under Pressure:
  • During peak times, remember that customers may be in a hurry. Stay composed, be attentive to everyone in line, and maintain the festive, cheerful atmosphere of Santa'Ville.
